About the Practice:

The genetics laboratory provides a full range of clinical cytogenomic and molecular services to private physicians, hospitals, and laboratories throughout the United States. Located in Tennessee, their reputation stands on quality, personal service, and fast turn-around times. The laboratory is College of American Pathology (CAP) accredited, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)-certified and licensed by the states of Tennessee, California, Florida and Rhode Island.

Position Highlights:

  • Provide technical and scientific direction to the cytogenetic laboratory.
  • Reporting karyotyping studies in a timely manner.
  • Develop validation and reporting new test.
  • Maintain quality control standards according to CAP and CLIA regulations
  • Ensure staffing schedules are well coordinated.
  • Maintain knowledge of all regulations pertinent to Cytogenetics.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics in Clinical Cytogenetics and meeting the requirements for a Director of Clinical Cytogenetics of The College of American Pathologists and CLIA regulations. 
  • PhD in Clinical Cytogenetics or equivalent.
  • Analytical ability to maximize processes and operating efficiency.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as laboratory director or director training fellowship
  • Clinical research experience and publication of work are preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of clinical testing processes and procedures.
  • Laboratory or manufacturing facility experience is a plus.
